CHICAGO, IL (November 22, 2013) – A sweet contender enters the arena in an effort to bring awareness to the prevention of women’s cancer. Most folks familiar with The Pound Cake Company, know that the original Mother’s Butter pound cake was developed from a recipe that has been shared with family and friends for over 75 years. What they don’t know is the inspiration for “Mother’s Butter” comes from the namesake of the Founder’s aunt, Lottie Moore. “As the matriarch of our family, Aunt Lottie was a mother to everyone and the cornerstone who taught me those traditional values of homemade goodness,” says Chef Milton Stephens. “Having been diagnosed with cancer, I feel it was very important to share her love and meticulous recipes as a legacy for the next generation.”
Celebrating more than 10 years of homemade goodness, and in honor of the memory of Lottie Moore and Louvenia Stephens, The Pound Cake Company is proud to announce a partnership with the Foundation for Women’s Cancer for “Pounding the Fight” against cancer. And what better way to mark the occasion than with the launch of the latest addition to our gourmet line of products? Long-awaited, this is another traditional family recipe made with all natural ingredients and in small batches to ensure a taste that is sure to re-call the good old days.
In partnering with the Foundation for Women’s Cancer, proceeds from the sale of exclusively branded products by The Pound Cake Company will be presented to the Foundation to assist in funding research and raising public awareness about early detection and optimal treatment of gynecologic cancers. Your donation and support is needed. With your purchase from our “Pounding the Fight” product selections, you can help make a difference.
