Remembering Our Fallen

May 27, 2015

Memorial Day is observed on the last Monday of May.  Formerly know as Decoration Day, it commemorates all of the men and women who have died in military service for the United States.  Many visit cemeteries and graves of their lost loved ones as well as national memorials.  Memorial Day has become less of an occasion of remembrance lately.  Since the day traditionally is seen as the start of summer, many people choose to have cookouts, sporting events and family gatherings on this weekend.  And for the fashion conscious, it is means the time to wear white clothing is acceptable.  However one chooses to observe Memorial Day  will always be underlined by the sacrifices of freedom made on their behalf by the brave men and women of our armed forces.  We at The Pound Cake Company thank you.
